Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-02

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our website. They help us provide a better experience. This policy explains what cookies we use and how you can control them, in compliance with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the GDPR.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies (Always Active)

  • Session cookie: Maintains your login state. Required for authenticated pages. No consent required.
  • CSRF token: Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. No consent required.

Analytics (Optional)

  • Plausible Analytics: Lightweight, privacy-friendly analytics. Plausible does not use persistent cookies and does not collect any personal data. While Plausible is GDPR-compliant without requiring consent, we give you the choice to opt out of the analytics pixel as a best-practice transparency measure.

Preference Cookies

  • Theme preference: Remembers light/dark mode selection. Set based on your explicit choice.
  • Cookie consent: Remembers your cookie preference choice. Set when you interact with the cookie banner.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data with third parties. Our infrastructure sub-processors (Hetzner Online GmbH) may set strictly necessary cookies for load-balancing sessions.

4. Your Choices

When you first visit our site, a cookie banner gives you the following options:

  • Accept All: Essential cookies + analytics pixel enabled.
  • Necessary Only: Only essential cookies enabled. Analytics pixel is blocked.
  • Reject All: Same as Necessary Only — only essential cookies.

You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and reloading the page.

5. Managing Cookies via Browser

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View cookies stored on your device.
  • Block all or third-party cookies.
  • Delete individual or all cookies.

Disabling essential cookies may prevent the ApexMail console from functioning correctly.
